Night Time Fun 10/04/07

The City of Zacatecas is a very artsy friendly city. They have lots of shows, concerts, theater, musical acts, and even a walking street band that play every Friday and Saturday nights.

I saw a Smart Car for the first time in person on this day. They are quite cute and I think Mexico got them before the U.S. got them. Regardless, while they look cool and are small enough to fit in the tightest of places, I think they'd be rather dangerous for little one's to be riding in.

We were out with Katy again and happened to pass by this billboard. I thought it was pretty funny to see this little old Catholic Mexican lady reading a billboard plastered with Vagina Monologues posters!

A Zacatecas Calle at dusk.

Here I was trying to take a normal pic and didn't realize I had the camera on a different setting. I actually like the result I got.

Ahh, the teenage years. Apparently there was some sporting event and afterwards all the kids were sitting on cars and in the back of pick-ups. The boys didn't know I was about to take a pic of them.

Still trying to climb into and/or get settled into the truck, only half the boys were able to wave.

The all kept hollering at me to take a third pic. Finally, they all got to wave!

I love how they place signage for their streets. Plus, It said Chicago. Who would have thought it there would be a street named Chicago in Mexico.

This is the rear of Ex-Templo de San Augustin at night.

Katy had a rocky start with Andre. I don't think she had much experience with little one's but she and Andre came around, eventually!

Here is the roaming band that plays on weekend nights. They have quite a loyal following. The followers carry little ceramic shots around their necks and they drink their shots of Tequila from it. These guys have quite the endurance. They walk up and down hills in the city while playing constantly. Hardly ever taking a break. When Shaunie was here we all followed one but as it turned out, they went to one of the posh hotels and we continued to follow but got kicked out when we realized they were headed to a private gathering. Regardless, it was a lot of fun, even when we got kicked out of the hotel!
